Chapels and churches
Lloret has various chapels and churches. These include the Chapel of Santa Cristina, where one can find an exhibition of miniature boats offered up to the saint by sailors and fisherman. Lloret’s main town festival (24th July) is celebrated in this chapel. The parish church is one of the must-see attractions when taking a stroll around the centre of Lloret.
Santa Clotilde Gardens
Gardens between heaven and earth Santa Clotilde Gardens are located in a stunning beauty spot, high up on a clifftop with outstanding sea views.
They constitute a true example of the essence of the noucentista movement in Catalonia. Sculptures, fountains and ponds can all be found there. The gardens have been declared a site of national cultural interest.
Modernist Lloret
The Indianos also left their mark in the form of modernist art in Lloret de Mar. A clear example of this is the modernist cemetery, designed by the renowned architect Puig i Cadafalch (one of the most important representatives of Catalan modernism), but other buildings in the town also bear the hallmarks of this style: the parish rectory, the Chapel of the Most Holy and the Chapel of the Baptistery. "
Early Lloret
Lloret de Mar has 3 Iberian settlements: Montbarbat, Puig de Castellet and Turó Rodó. The Puig de Castellet settlement (650 m2) is situated 2 kilometres away from Lloret de Mar town centre in a strategic spot with an excellent vantage point overlooking the area stretching from the Tordera estuary to the Lloret coast. Lloret also has a mediaeval legacy. "
